MALANG – Located at the F Building Hall 7th floor of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya, iB Goes to Campus has been held with the theme “Serunya Berbank Syariah” on Wednesday (21/02/2018). The event which was initiated by CIES FEB UB was attended by Widodo (Head of OJK Malang), Aprilia Ratna Palupi (Head of Department of Islamic Banking), Dwi Poedji Widodo (Branch Manager of Bank Muamalat Indonesia Malang), Bayu Arie Fianto (National Presidium FoSSEI 2006-2007 ), FEB UB students, KSEI LISSEI UM, KSEI FPED UMM, KSEI HMPS UMM, and KSEI SESCOM UIN MALIKI MALANG. “We already have EKIS and I think the interest of students now to develop the concept of Islamic Economy and implement in everyday life is very big, so we from FEB UB welcomed the collaboration made by OJK friends with FEB UB students” said Dr. Moh. Khusaini, SE., M.Si., MA. as Vice Dean for Student Affairs FEB UB in his speech.
iB Goes to Campus is a series of events from iB Vaganza held in Cyber Mall Malang. The iB Vaganza series include Music Patrol Competition, Fashion Show Hijab Mother and Child, Fashion Show Industrial Couple, Ranking 1, and Coloring, as well as a series of Talkshow and Education. The event, which was attended by 195 participants, was opened with the reading of the Holy Qur’an by Roby Aulia Zamora and tilawah sari by Rifda Hanifah, then filled by remarks from Dr. Moh. Khusaini, SE., M.Si., MA., Widodo, and Agung Wicaksono, awarding plaques from FEB to OJK and from OJK to FEB UB, photo together, then core session, is panel discussion sessions.
The first panel discussion session was delivered by Aprilia Ratna Palupi, S.Sos., M.Si discusses OJK and Sharia Banking Policy in Indonesia. In his presentation, he disclosed that OJK has 7 policy directions for the development of sharia banking in Indonesia, which is to strengthen policy synergy between authority and government and other stakeholders, strengthen capital and business scale and improve efficiency with work program, improve fund structure, improve service quality and product diversity, improve the quantity and quality of human resources and IT and other infrastructure, increase community literacy and preference, strengthen and harmonize regulation and supervision.
The second panel discussion session delivered by Dwi Poedji Widodo discusses the introduction of Islamic banking products and services. Before entering the core discussion, he had touched on some differences between conventional and sharia banking as well as sharia principles. Islamic banking products consist of financing products, funding products, and service products. Financing products are divided into 3 categories, which is intended to have the goods carried out with the principle of sale and purchase, to obtain services done with the principle of lease, and for business cooperation and the principle of profit sharing. While the funding product applies wadi’ah and mudharabah principles in the operational principles of sharia. While services products consist of Sharf (Sale and purchase foreign currency) and Ijarah (Lease).
The third panel discussion session delivered by Bayu Arie Fianto discussed the role of students in increasing the growth of sharia banking in Indonesia, such as students must also initiate the formation of Islamic Economics or Islamic Banking, conduct research and scientific activities about sharia banking, Participate in the development of banks syariah in Indonesia after graduating in accordance with the field of career that was involved, as well as socialization and introduction of sharia banking in the campus environment.
After the panel discussion session, the event ended with the delivery of souvenirs by Chairman of CIES, Muhammad Ilham Lathief Makbul (Islamic Economy 2015) to Aprilia Ratna Palupi and Dwi Poedji Widodo. While giving souvenirs to Bayu Arie Fianto submitted by FoSSEI National Presidium 2017-2018, Agung Wicaksono. The hope after this event ended, students gain an understanding of syari’ah banking, not only understand but also implement it in everyday life.
