Based on Brawijaya University’s mission and vision, the delegation of students to participate in the national level competition that carries the name of Brawijaya University in general purpose and the Accounting Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business in particular, is one manifestation of the development of knowledge that has only been obtained through classroom education. To add insight and enrich the knowledge that has been obtained, students are advised to take part in the competition to improve the skills they have gained.
Accounting Competence is a competition arena as a form of contribution to the development of accounting skills and knowledge. Therefore the next generation of accountants must have technical capabilities, such as mastering International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or IFRS-based Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) so as to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian accounting students. IFRS is a standard that has been converged in the financial accounting standards of ASEAN countries.
Competition of Accounting (COMPAC) 2019 is an accounting competition with a national scope. This competition was held by the Accounting Student Association of the STIE Perbanas, Surabaya as a forum in an effort to implement the knowledge gained during the lecture period. In addition to being a forum for implementing science, COMPAC is expected to be able to test the level of ability not only conceptually but also the technical ability of all students throughout Indonesia.
The form of implementation of financial concentration created a series consisting of: Preliminary, National Seminar, Technical Meeting, Semifinal, Final, and Night Gathering held on November 13-16, 2018.
The desire to develop and add insight is what inspired us to take part in the Competition of Accounting (COMPAC) event by sending delegates who will later become representatives of Universitas Brawijaya in the race to be the best in the event.
