“Delegation of FEB UB becomes Finalist in Accounting Paper Competition at Diponegoro University, Semarang”

Delegation of FEB UB in the 2019 Accounting Paper Competitiom at Diponegoro University, Semarang consisting of Arie Aviana (Accounting, 2016) and Andre Novian Megantara (Accounting, 2016) succeeded in ranking in the top 4, competing with 9 other teams particiapting in the final of the Accounting Paper Competition in Semarang.

The national level event of the Student Association of the Department of Accounting, Diponegoro University, carried the theme “Embracing the Roles of Accountants to Achieve Golden Indonesia in 2045”. This activity lasted for two days from Friday (27/09/2019) with various series of events such as technical meeting, fieldtrip, presentation round, agree or disagree statement round, and awarding night.

“This competition carries a slightly different concept from the other competition commonly. If in general the fnalist of the paper competition just have to present their papers, but in the competition this time there is also a kind of debate round as one component of determining the winner”, said Arie as the leader of the delegation.

The team explained that the ideas brought in this competition originated from the phenomenon of village fund management which is still not optimal in achieving the expected goals due to the many problems that occur. From this picture, the team then proposed to make a system of channeling and managing village funds to be more efficient by using technology assistance in the form of a blockchain. This system if implemented will have several advantages, one of which is the data entered into this system can’t  changed even by the user and the information in it will be updated in real time.
