HMJIE PRESENTS SCIENTIFIC WRITING COMPETITION, NATIONAL DISCUSSION AND INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR BY SUPPORTING MILLENIAL INNOVATION THEMES FOR SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS INDONESIA SDGs 2030

About Intellectual Dialogue of Economics (IDE XV) 2019

Intellectual Dialogue of Economics (IDE XV) 2019 is one of the work programs of the R & D Department in the Department of Economics Student Association (HMJIE) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) which is held every two years. A series of scientific writing competitions, national discussions, international seminars and fieldtrips will be held in October.

In general, the objective to be achieved through this activity is to increase the participation of students, especially the board of the HMJ IE FEB-UB in developing a trustworthy person to carry out their duties in an institution or organization so that the image of HMJIE FEB-UB is expected to increase. The specific objectives to be achieved through this activity are: improving and demonstrating the social sensitivity of students in criticizing the current state of affairs in Indonesia, enhancing and developing the abilities and attitudes of IE students throughout Indonesia, especially those that are oriented towards achievement and achievement as much as possible, showing existence , competence, appreciation and consistency of students as one of the driving forces of Indonesia’s progress, developing creative power in order to advance students’ self-potential, developing intellectual mindset for the benefit and improvement of the nation’s morality starting from the general public and students in particular, as a means for students to develop and channel student talents in the field of scientific writing and the means of actualizing the role of students as government control and agent of change through writing media.

The series of events on the Intellectual Dialogue of Economics work program, consists of 3 series. The Technical Meeting of the IDE XIV series of events is the initial agenda of a series of core activities that will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 08.00-20.00 at the Hall of Building D, 2nd floor of FEB. At this Technical meeting the participants explained the technical explanation regarding the series of events, also explained the technical presentation and dinner and entertainment by the performers.

After the Technical Meeting is held, then proceed with the second activity event is an International Seminar which is participated by the contestants or the general target of 250 participants. In this session, there are several speakers, each of whom will provide a detailed explanation of the sub-themes raised in the LKTIN competition held, as well as a 120-minute general discussion session with the speaker. And located in the F Building 7th floor of the FEB UB

The third event was a National Discussion, in the form of an internal discussion agenda between the semifinalists of the National Scientific Writing Contest with economic seminar presenters. Discussing ideas and ideas from all semifinalists that will be conveyed through each group leader regarding the current issue. Then the minutes will be submitted to the City of Malang as a solution to the problems discussed and located in the Hall of Building D, 2nd floor of FEB UB.

For the second series, it was held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 08.00 – 22.00 in the form of LKTIN competition which took place at the 7th floor of the F Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya. This activity was carried out in the form of a presentation on the Scientific Writing Competition involving students from all PTNs and PTS throughout Indonesia who compiled their writing according to the theme “Millennial Innovation for Sustainable Economic Development Towards Indonesia SDGs 2030” which was determined by the committee. In this writing competition, 10 groups will be selected who will present their work in the F building on the 7th floor of FEB UB. The determination of these 10 groups is determined by judges’ judgments who have competence in the field of writing and understand about current economic issues. The themes provided in the LKTIN IDE XV Presentation are Education, Technology, Socio-Culture, Tourism, Agriculture, Health, Maritime.

The last series of events from Intellectual Dialogue of Economics is a Field Trip which is held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and held at the Jatim Park Group. The Field Trip participants were invited to refresh, which was held to increase familiarity between the delegation and the XV IDE committee and introduce one of the leading tourist attractions in Malang City. In addition, in this Field Trip series participants were also invited to visit the typical souvenir center in the City. Poor. Here participants are given time to shop for food or souvenirs typical of the city of Malang to be brought back to their respective regions with a duration of 75 minutes.
