Ordik Mahasiswa Baru Pascasarjana FEB UB Tahun 2016/2017

On 5 September 2016, Postgraduate Program Orientation Day (ORDIK) academic year 2016/2017 were held at the Hall Building F Graduate School of Economics and Business, University of Brawijaya. The event starts at 08.00 to 16.00 attended by the Dean, Head of Department, Chairman Prodi, and lecturers and all new students graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Brawijaya, Malang.

ORDIK this year seem different from the previous year, the number of new postgraduate students is increasing, reaching 364 students, including 288 Master Program Students (S2) and 76 Doctoral Program Students (S3). Among all the new students who attended the ORDIK, there are some students who attend lecture for one semester due to their enrollment in the academic year 2015/2016 while the other are a newcomer in the academic 2016/2017.

The ORDIK starts with the  FEB UB ORDIK committee reports , followed with remarks by Prof. Candra Fajri Ananda, SE., MSc., Ph.D. as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya, as well as the introduction of the  Vices Dean, Heads of Department, Head of Study Program, and Lecturer. In the Dean’s remarks, there are several important points that delivered; Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya will increase the facilities for postgraduate students to meet lecturers. For example, FEB UB builds some small rooms in the first floor of Postgraduate Program building with hopes that it can facilitate the students and lecturer to meet more often to discuss. In addition to the dean also explains about the plagiarism checking system and some tips for making a dissertation or thesis, like taking the actual issues and using methods that were different than the others. “Good luck, may your hope and dream come true” is the closing sentence of the Dean’s speech for the New Postgraduate Students FEB UB.

The event was subsequently filled with socializing for SIAKAD (Academic Information System), finance and student affairs, socialization of the journal summary methods, a journals socialization and plagiarism, as well as the introduction of Master and Doctoral Studies Program which conducted in the separate rooms provided by the committee in accordance with their respective study program. The next event is the speech from ORDIK participants about their impression, including some points, that New Postgraduate Students got a lot of information about the lecture that they will get in the academic year 2016/2017. After that, The representative of the Dean’s speech closed all programs of the Postgraduate Program Orientation Day (ORDIK) Academic  year 2016/2017, Faculty of Economics and Business University of Brawijaya, Malang.
