Marketing is one of the main activities undertaken by entrepreneurs in their efforts to maintain their life to grow and make a profit. Success or failure in achieving business goals depends on the skills of entrepreneurs in the fields of marketing, production, finance and other fields. The main goal is make a good profit by entrepreneurship in accordance with their individual creativity in achieving these objectives.
And one thing that contributed to the success of a company in achieving its goal is influenced by the company’s ability to market its products. Marketing is done by the employer must be really effective. Many entrepreneurs do marketing innovatively. Moreover, today, has emerged a new era in the world of marketing, which is the digital marketing era. Was mostly done by entrepreneurs in marketing their goods and services through the internet.
Students as individual intellectual, are expected to be able to respond any changes that occur in Indonesia, especially in the terms of marketing. Students are always expected to deliver the ideas, creativities, and innovations in order to facing marketing in the digital era of global markets. The brilliant idea is expected to make Indonesia better prepared to face all threats in the term of marketing.
Therefore, Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan Manajemen (HMJM) of Economic and Business Faculty Brawijaya University held a national marketing debate competition with theme “Odyssey to Find the City Identity” in order to grow and find solution-based ideas to the problems in City Branding. By doing so, the students as the future generation can contribute their thoughts and actions to answer marketing issues in the field of City Branding.

AIMS AND PURPOSES
Management Edutainment (Education and Entertainment), in education aims to develop the insight and knowledge of younger generations of Indonesian students. And in the field of entertainment, in addition to bringing educational entertainment for the younger generation. The object of education is also intended to introduce Malang City to public in general, especially students who come from outside the city of Malang.
“Odyssey to Find the City Identity”
Management Edutainment is one of the work program of the Department of Management Student Association FEB UB. A debate competition interspersed in groups with some amusement that matches the theme of activities. This competition is a nationwide student competition with participants from all universities in Indonesia from various faculties, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business. Target participants is 32 teams, where one team consists of 3 people. Thus, the total target entirely debate participants is 96 people. This activity will be held on November 6 to 9, in which event the debate will be held on 7th and 8th the registration fee shall be charged in accordance with the committee agreed and the cost is covered all basic accommodation in this activity. In addition to the debates, this year the committee will also devise an amusing activity while creating a more intimate introduction again to all parties involved in this activity. Entertainment activities will be created through a city tour, games, night familiarity, and so on.
