The improvement of the Indonesian economy can be seen from the economic growth in each year. By comparing the growth of each year can be analyzed that whether the Indonesian economy has increased or even decreased. The weak global economic growth of 2015 has affected Indonesia with growth of only 4.8% last year. Indonesia’s economic growth in 2015 is good enough for commodity-exporting countries, but not enough to absorb some three million youths in the labor force, nor is it enough to reverse the slowing trend of poverty reduction (www.worldbank.org, March 15, 2016).
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said “In the long term the Indonesian economy will continue to grow above seven percent”. Such high growth should be anticipated because every time Indonesia goes into periods of high growth or above seven percent then the economy of Indonesia experienced the so-called overheating (liputan6.com, Thursday 26 May 2016). The World Bank predicts that Indonesia will grow 5.1% in 2016 and 5.3% in 2017, although this figure represents an improvement of 4.8% in 2015, the World Bank said that economic growth in Indonesia depends on government economic policy. This World Bank projection is different from the Indonesian government’s target. According to Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro, the government will keep economic growth steady at 5.3% and the rupiah remains at around Rp 13,400.00 per US $ 1 (www.bbc.com, 2016).
