BATTLE AND LEAD IN ACCOUNTING COMPETITION (BALANCE 2019)

In accordance with Universitas Brawijaya’s vision and mission, delegation of students to take part in the national level competition that carries the name of Universitas Brawijaya in general and the Accounting Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business in particular, is one manifestation of scientific development that has only been obtained through classroom education. To add insight and enrich the knowledge that has been gained, students are advised to take part in competitions to improve the skills they have acquired.

Accounting Competence is a competition arena as a form of contribution to the development of accounting skills and knowledge. Therefore the next generation of accountants must have technical capabilities, such as mastering International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or IFRS-based Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) so as to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian accounting students. IFRS is a standard that has been converged in the financial accounting standards of ASEAN countries.

In this modern era, students are required to be able to think ahead and be required to hone every ability within themselves. Allah SWT has given different abilities, and with that ability we can improve ourselves to become better beings. Allah SWT creates us with reason so that we think in living life. However, there needs to be a good soul to encourage ourselves to be able to think smarter and creatively.

Based on these thoughts, we as the Event Organizer Department of HMJA KOMISI FE UII for the period 2018/2019 intend to hold a multi event which is packaged in a series of Super Accounting Program (SAP) 9 with the theme “Growing souls in developing self-interest and intellectual interests by upholding friendship and sportsmanship to form competent people “. One of them is the Battle and Lead in Accounting Competition 2019 (BALANCE 2019), which is an event of self potential search in the field of accounting from accounting students of FE UII and competition between accounting students spread across universities throughout Indonesia.

Battle and Lead in Accounting Competition 2019 (BALANCE 2019) with the theme “Optimizing Young Accountants Through Accounting Competition to Build a Professional Soul”. This event became a forum for accounting students in Indonesia to show and develop a passion in themselves. The hope is that with the holding of this activity competing accounting students can take into account their every step, and be successful in competing to develop themselves and boast alma mater.

The Battle and Lead in Accounting Competition 2019 (BALANCE 2019) was held on 5 – 7 Apri 2019. The series of BALANCE 2019 events started from the Preliminary stage, Technical Meeting, Match to Balance, Capital Investment, Grand Final, Yogyakarta City Tour, and Awarding Night.

Battle and Lead in Accounting Competition (BALANCE) is an accounting competition with a national scope. This competition was held as a forum in an effort to implement the knowledge gained during the lecture period. In addition to being a forum in the implementation of science, through BALANCE it is hoped that it can test the level of ability not only conceptually but also the technical ability of all students throughout Indonesia.

The desire to develop and add insight is what inspired us to take part in the Accounting Olympics by sending a delegation who will later become the representative of Universitas Brawijaya in the race to be the best in the event.
