INTRODUCTION
Bring a college student deegre is both pride and challenge. Those who are registered as students in tertiary institutions have a greater responsibility in providing solutions to the problems encountered. As a college student deegre , have expectations and responsibilities are so great because students bridge the gap between Indonesian people and leaders.
As a collage student deegre who plays a role in realizing community welfare can be implemented by orienting to the roles and functions of students including :
Iron Stock means students are expected to have the ability and noble character that will become the next generation of the nation. Where students are expected to be the forerunners of the future who will advance this nation to become better because if not the younger generation who else will be given these responsibilities.
As an agent of change means students as agents who bring change in society. With the degree he obtained, students are expected to be able to apply what they get during the process of studying to the community as a hope that will bring change for the nation in the future for the better.
Moral Force means that students are demanded for intellectual good moral values in society as a basic reference in behaving like behavior, words, manner of dress, manner of behavior and others related to good morals. So all these references must be corrected by a student himself.
Social control means that students are expected to be able to control social life in society by bridging the government and the community. Conveying aspirations from the public to the government. In addition, students are also required to be critical of government policies, whether the policy is good for the community or vice versa.
By mean of these four functions, students are required to be not only good in academic matters, but also active in organizing both on campus and off campus. In this organization students can develop their abilities apart from the academic aspect. One such organization is the DPM or Student Representative Council which is a place to develop students on campus. DPM is a high legislative institution in the campus environment that has a function that is not much different from the legislative body in government, among them:
From three functions, it can be seen that the role of the legislative body is very important in the institutional setting within the government and campus environment. But lately students are less interested in going directly into legislative because legislative institutions are considered to be less useful and not visible in their activities and have less contribution in activities within the faculty or university.
Therefore, DPM FEB UB has set up a work program called “Legislative Classes”. This work program aims to increase the awareness of FEB UB students about the importance of the legislative body in carrying out its functions for the sustainability of the activities in FEB UB and also to make a change movement so that the activities of FEB UB students are better. So as to create leaders – leaders who have knowledge and are reliable in the legislative field, and ultimately become a superior seed to produce good and right leaders later in the legislative field in particular and other fields in general.
