Art Study Excursion (ASE) is an annual Economic Dance Club (EDC) activity that aims to facilitate EDC members to learn art and share knowledge for the community or UKM we are aiming for, and also make EDC members more creative, active, innovative and teach the meaning of work same, sense of belonging, and unity among fellow EDC members.
The Art Study Excursion was held on May 4, 2019. This activity was attended by 40 active EDC members and also those from non EDC but still students of the Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Economics and Business. This activity starts at 05.00 with the condition that all participants must have gathered until 05.45 and then at 06.00 the journey to Surabaya begins. The first visit of ASE was to the Surabaya State University (UNESA), where we were welcomed with the UNESA Sendratasik. The event was exciting and cool, we arrived at Surabaya State University at around 11 noon, the visit began with an introduction between the two parties and continued with sharing activities carried out by EDC and UNESA Sendratasik. We also exchanged info about dance competitions to be held, with the aim of being able to join each other in the dance competition. Besides that, because we were already there, we also held a battle dance with Sendratasik, which is a dance UKM in Surabaya State University (if at Universitas Brawijaya like Unitantri).

Tukar ke IndonesiaAfter making a brief farewell, we set off for the second destination, the Ten November Institute of Technology. There we wanted to meet UKTK, a dance arts UKM at the November 10 Institute of Technology. At 1:00 p.m. we arrived there, and there we were also welcomed, even they considered us like a part of them. As well as before there we also shared about EDC and its organization as well as from UKTK also sharing about organization within the UKTK. There we also shared competition info, with the aim of both EDC and UKTK being able to join each other in the competition. After 2 hours passed we said goodbye to UKTK and continued the journey to the next destination, Night Kids Entertainment. Night Kids Entertainment is a dance community in Surabaya. This organization contains children who love dance especially Kpop and Modern with no regard for age. It means that anyone can participate but by auditioning first, where after the audition each talent will be trained to be competed to get achievements. Night Kids Entertainment is also quite well known among Kpopers Surabaya, EDC also knows Night Kids after being a participant in the same event and that’s where EDC has a connection with Night Kids Entertainment. At 3:00 p.m., we arrived at Night Kids Entertainment base camp, no less than the previous visit there, we were also warmly welcomed. As with previous visits we shared with each other about our respective organizations. After it lasted 2 hours, we continued the trip to the last destination, Kenjeran Park. After a traffic jam during the trip we finally arrived at the destination. There we have free time to play. Then we go back to Malang at 10:00 p.m.
Lots of knowledge, new friends and good memories that we got from ASE 2019. Hopefully next year’s ASE can visit more existing SMEs and dance communities and can provide even more benefits. Thank you, Surabaya State University, the November 10 Institute of Technology, and Night Kids Entertainment. Hopefully next time we can meet again!
